Description
This splendid table was designed by Carlo Mollino in 1947 for the offices of Reale Mutua Assicurazioni in Turin. The table became an icon of Italian design (the original at auction at Christie’s fetched a record figure of 3.8 million dollars). In 1990 Zanotta reissued the Royal Table (this is one of the first versions and is a must for enthusiasts). It is suitable for the dining room and stylish as a desk. With its elaborate wooden base and elegant glass top, the piece appears to be framed.
The original condition is still very good.
